Vibration therapy devices: what they are and how to compare them
Handheld vibration devices use rapidly repeating movement at the contact surface. The useful comparison is not simply “more power”; speed, stroke, contact design, intended use and comfort all matter.
Vibration is not the same as percussion
Both categories create mechanical stimulation, but they can feel and behave differently. Percussion devices are commonly marketed around deeper, repeated impacts, while Rapid Release describes its platform as high-frequency, short-stroke vibration. That distinction is central to its positioning, but it should not be interpreted as proof that one category is medically superior.

What to compare
Frequency or speed
Manufacturers may describe speed in vibrations or revolutions per minute. Treat those numbers as device specifications, not outcome guarantees.
Stroke and contact
Shorter and longer movement patterns can produce very different sensations. Applicator shape also changes how force is distributed.
Use context
A clinician, athlete and frequent traveler may prioritize very different combinations of reach, battery life, portability and price.
